One of the biggest mistakes I see midlife women ma One of the biggest mistakes I see midlife women make when creating digital products? Overcomplicating it. You do not need to design something from scratch. You do not need to be “creative.” You do not need to spend weeks trying to make it perfect. If you’re using Canva, start with a free ebook template. That’s it. Search “ebook” inside Canva, choose a clean, simple template, and start replacing the text with your own content. The structure is already done for you. The layout is already designed. You’re simply customizing it to fit your idea. The goal is not to create the most original design on the internet. The goal is to get your knowledge into a sellable format and get it out into the world. Progress over perfection, especially in midlife. If you’ve been stuck because you thought this had to be complicated, this is your reminder: it doesn’t. Lately I’ve been spending time behind the scenes l Lately I’ve been spending time behind the scenes learning something new…Meta ads. Not because I love adding more to my plate, but because I’ve realized something important. Creating digital products is only half the equation. If we want consistent sales, we have to understand how to get the right eyes on our offers. Organic content is powerful, and I will always teach that. But paid visibility is a skill set too, and one I believe more midlife women should feel confident learning. I’ll be honest, ads felt intimidating at first. It’s a different language. There’s data, targeting, testing… and it can feel very “techy.” But midlife is not the season to play small. We are more than capable of learning new strategies. We can understand numbers. We can build systems. We can expand. So right now, I’m in learning mode. Watching. Testing. Running small experiments. Figuring out what works and what doesn’t. And when I feel solid in it, it’s absolutely something I want to bring back to this community, because I don’t just want to teach you how to create digital products. After selling over a thousand digital products, HERE is what I’ve learned… You can have the most beautiful, well-designed, value-packed digital product in the world… but if the right people don’t see it, it will not sell. It’s not about how good your Canva design is. It’s not even about how much information from Chat GPT is inside. “It’s about whether the right set of eyes sees it — and whether they understand that it solves their problem. See that long dash ChatGPT loves to sneak into your text — ⬅️ It’s called an em dash and it’s a dead giveaway that you are using Chat GPT. Here’s how to fix it fast!� In Canva, go to File and select Find and Replace, paste the em dash, replace it with a regular space or what ever you want, and boom…clean, human-looking text in seconds. I love adding stock photos to match my brand when I love adding stock photos to match my brand when creating a digital product in Canva but sometimes the photo doesn’t always look the way you want it to when you add it to your digital product. Let’s fix that! You want to go to your Project folder and select your folder on where you saved your stock images. Then select the image and drag it over to a frame you already have set up within your digital product. Drop the image into the frame. Here I want to show more of the keyboard so I am going to adjust the image. Go to the Crop Tool Icon and click, it will expand your image, I am now going to reposition it so the focus is on more of the keyboard. By using the mouse, I am going to drag the image down to how I want it, to close out of the crop tool, click anywhere on the space outside of the image. A perfectly branded image is now embedded in your digital product!
