Midlife Karen

Hello, I’m Karen!

About Me

Welcome! I’m Karen, 50+ mom of two teens, wife and the creator behind Midlife Karen. After 15 years working as a Corporate Accountant, I became a stay-at-home mom to raise my two babies. Now, with two teenagers and retirement (and college expenses!) suddenly feeling very real, I’m figuring out how to build flexible income without going back to Corporate America.
Here I share what I’m learning about selling digital products and building a profitable Substack, all while working toward retirement.
If you’re a Midlife Mom figuring out what’s next, let’s figure it out together!

xoxo, Karen Tucci

Hi, I’m Karen, the woman behind Midlife Karen.

I’m a 50+ mom of two teenagers, a wife, and a former Corporate Accountant turned stay at home mom who is figuring out what’s next in this very interesting stage of life.

For 15 years, I worked as a Corporate Accountant. I had a career, a paycheck, and the predictable rhythm of corporate life. But when I became a mom, my priorities changed. I made the decision to leave Corporate America and become a stay-at-home mom so I could be there to raise my two babies.

And I wouldn’t change that decision.

But somewhere along the way, those babies became teenagers. The years that once seemed so far away started moving really, really fast. Suddenly, college expenses are on the horizon, retirement doesn’t feel like some far-off thing anymore, and I’m thinking a lot more about what I want my own next chapter to look like.

I do know I don’t want to go back to Corporate America.

But I also know I want to contribute financially, continue building something that’s mine, and create income that gives me flexibility.

So here I am, figuring it out.

Why Midlife Karen?

Midlife can be a funny place.

We’ve spent years taking care of everyone else, building careers, raising kids, managing households, and doing all the things. And then one day you look around and realize you’re entering a completely different chapter.

Maybe your kids are getting older. Maybe retirement is suddenly something you’re actually thinking about. Maybe you’re wondering what you’re going to do when the house gets quieter. Or maybe you’re simply asking yourself:

“What’s next for me?”

That’s the question I’m exploring, too.

Midlife Karen is my place to share what I’m learning as I build a flexible online income stream for this next chapter of my life.

What You’ll Find Here

My focus is simple: digital products and Substack.

I’m learning how to create and sell digital products—things that can turn my knowledge, experience, and ideas into something people actually want to buy.

I’m also learning how to build a profitable Substack and create an audience I can connect with directly, rather than relying entirely on social media.

I’ll share the things I’m learning, the things that work, the things that don’t, and the lessons that come with figuring out online business in midlife.

And because I’m a former Corporate Accountant, money and the financial side of this next chapter naturally matter to me, too. I’m not a financial advisor, but I do have a background working with numbers and understanding the financial side of business. As I work toward retirement, I’ll occasionally share some of the things I’m thinking about, learning, and doing along the way.

This Isn’t About Starting Over

One thing I’ve realized about being 50+ is that I don’t want to start over.

I want to build from what I already know.

I’ve spent decades learning things, working, raising kids, managing a household, solving problems, figuring things out, and gaining experience. I believe women in midlife have more to offer than we sometimes give ourselves credit for.

Your experience is valuable.

Your knowledge is valuable.

Your ideas are valuable.

And maybe there’s a way to turn some of those things into something that’s not only personally fulfilling, but financially meaningful, too.

That’s what I’m exploring.

Let’s Figure It Out Together

I don’t have a perfect five-year plan.

I’m not here to tell you that you’ll make six figures in 30 days or that there’s some magic button for creating online income.

I’m simply a 50+ mom figuring out what works for me—and sharing what I learn along the way.

If you’re also at that point in life where you’re thinking about what’s next, how to create flexible income, how to prepare for retirement, or how to build something of your own, I hope you’ll stick around.

Because I have a feeling we’re not the only ones figuring this out.

Let’s figure it out together!
